The latest Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating violence and madness with equal glee, all while telling captivating, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have embodied all of those things.

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a different backdrop and ensemble in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and present our mutual bold, daring approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
