Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
